Mrs Frieda’s Session 30 – You Can’t Text on a Knife

It’s Saturday, and the kids finally have a day to themselves. School is HARD. Of course, a free day can’t go without an adventure…

This one begins with a text message, and a beaten up coffee can. Inside, riches, and a note. This discovery will begin a treasure hunt that will crisscross Troy and lead the kids back into their own history.

Someone, it seems, has been paying particularly close attention to what they’ve been doing this summer. It’s up to the kids to track down the mystery before whatever’s behind it decides to stop playing games.

  1. OMG laughing the whole way from start to finish. that last hour to a half hour was so suspenseful but in an awesome and pleasant way. my thoughts were it would be funny if it were the good doctor using artillery to send jingles and friends gifts or elder Dane because of the =D sign offs. but Manda’s comment about Leadbot sounded even funnier. Cant wait to hear about who or what is behind this. A great session, love the classic Frieda’s vibe. and seriously do something with that thing under the house. I love hearing about that thing, as much of an eldritch horror or demonic entity as it seems to be.

  2. Hey, as an avid listener, and a Gm myself, I was wondering what Skype recorder the Drunk & The Ugly use. I’ve been thinking of recording my games to look back on them later and ask ‘how could that have gone better?’ The name or a link to the program would be great. Thanks! :3

Also, I loved the Poketopia reference.

I use Scribie’s Call Graph. We used to use MP3 Skype Recorder, but after it crashed like 3 times, losing all of our data each time, I opted for a new recorder. That isn’t to say that Call Graph hasn’t crashed on us before, but it when it does, the recording isn’t lost since Call Graph saves in WAV, a raw audio format, so with a little Google tutorial you can recover any clips that are lost when using it.

      1. Thanks! With this, I should be able to become a better Gm a little bit faster since I can review our games.

Keep doing the great games and the laughs. All the fans, including me, appreciate it. :3

  3. actually assumed Leadbot as my best educated guess about a half hour/hour into it. just some finale appearance of him shoving popcorn into his screen and going “You guys are the coolest show on tv! I love this season!”
and did love Tim and Hammerstein as an addition to the group. and Jingles remains adorable, especially with Tim

  4. I just listened to everything over the course of a week and I’m loving it. I especially like that something as simple as going to the movies or hanging out at the lake can be as entertaining as they are. Plan on going through the other campaigns soon as well. Hope they are as good as this one. The only bad thing I can find about these podcasts is that they make me depressed that I’ll never convince my group to run this system…

    1. This comment pops up for everyone who starts to listen to this Podcast. I’m pretty sure if everyone who “can’t get their group to play” gathered together we would have more than enough to play and keep it going.

Anyway, yea I really wish it was LeadBot at the end of this scavenger hunt but alas I don’t think it will be. I agree completely with (original) Sam’s comment about this being an Old-School Frieda’s game. It had a weird but of nostalgia listening to it. Also I love how Tim plays the straight-man (-teen) to this gang of crazy teenagers. The dead pan is hilarious.

      1. That’s actually not a half bad idea. I’m not exactly very good at organizing people but I’ll put it out there that if someone wanted to start something up I’d be all for playing in it. Hell, I’d even take a turn or two at GMing as well if it meant I’d get to be involved in a MaOCT campaign.

  5. A few things to say

    The Science of experimentation
    Adorable of Cute
Our “special friends” *Nele pops in*
Charles most definitely has a copy of ‘The Room’

    1. No we must go deeper into the triple rainbow!!

  6. For some reason, near the end I began to think that the entire scavenger hunt thing was arranged by Scott. He was the only character I could think of who knew about all of this but wasn’t involved in the hunt, and I thought he might have just used the paper as an excuse to set all of this up.

Then I realized that Scott does not have the ability to hurl objects at super-speed or smash massive holes in concrete. Felt a bit dumb after that.

    1. He might have found a way. Who knows. lol I am also kind of curious about those holes in the concrete and grass. WHAT IS GOING ON? “drops to the floor on knees”.

  7. I just like to imagine that when Nele came back onto the roof after having gathered all the AC unit parts, he’s just got them all bundled up in his poncho like it’s a rucksack.

That’s probably about how it worked. Nele is a strange individual.
