The recent capture of the madman Avent Martell not only serve reinforce the perceivable ineptude of the crew and captain, but dig up a whole new issue all the same. It seems Martell was able to get into the back rooms, which house the private stock carried by the Poulin Trading Company.

The crew find themselves exploring a room full of ornate firearms of mysterious make and model, a room full of bags of potent white powder, a room full of strange shells and casings, and the men who demand they be kept secret–representatives of the company who take their job very, very seriously.

In Port Victoire, a popular manufactoring and port town in eastern Vontier, a mass of sailors collect to sign on to the soon to depart Duquetimme, a ship owned and operated by the Poulin Trading Company.

These prospective sailors come seeking fortune and adventure, and the voyage of the Duquetimme promises all of that and more. The task: sail to the center of the ocean, a point between all four seafaring nations, where Gilbert Poulin II, owner of the PTC, theorizes the existence of a fabled island. His goal: establish a Hub in the name of the Poulin Trading Company, better connecting his company to the rest of the world before anyone others have the chance.

The sailors quickly discover the peculiarities of their task, however. Firstly, their pay is far too steep for a routine exploratory voyage–their contract promising more currency than an average laborer makes in ten years. And secondly, collecting the crew was remarkably rushed, to the point that some of the crew may or may not suffer from total ineptude . . .

HI THERE INTERNET!  We are playing around with a semi-monthly news format to fill the gaps between our main podcast.  Let us know if you’d like more of this in the future.  We’re going to cover upcoming games, events, and answer questions from email and comments on-air.

First, we’re taking a small break from Mrs. Frieda’s to start going through a number of backlogged and completed campaigns all run in Nathan Knapp’s Sordid Dystopia system.

In the vein of Sordid Dystopia, we are going to start up a Kickstarter to fund the publication of that system sometime in mid to late January.  We’re still working out the specifics of the rewards, but it will likely include:

  • A PDF version of Sordid Dystopia
  • 10 Preview APs (including future Frieda’s sessions and a whole MaOCT mini-campaign)
  • Games run by The Drunk and the Ugly (of which include Sam, Matt, Nate, and Charlie)
  • Scenarios written and run by The Drunk and the Ugly

It’s the last day of summer. The sun is rising, birds are singing, and Emma wakes up to see someone’s head peering in the window. She blinks, and the head is gone.

Instead, a sack is sitting on the windowsill. The bottom is moist and bloodstained. It’s filled with ripped shreds of bloody meat. Someone, it seems, has left a present for Manny.

Nevertheless, there are other pressing concerns: doctor’s notes to get out of gym must be acquired, Julie Williams must be visited in the hospital, Uncle V’s coming by to treat Manny to a bass of his own, and even though no one remembered, Scott turned 13 last week.

It’s the last day of summer and an awesome – if belated – birthday party must be organized. The last diem of summer must be carpe’d, at all costs.

Odyn has been defeated, but at a heavy cost. Julie Williams, chief rumorsmith and head popular girl, was lost inside the nightmare world Odyn created to trap Emma. Nele and Emma blasted their way in and recovered the little girl Emma, but Julie was consumed by Odyn.

Emma and Nele survived, and through the combined efforts of all of the children, Odyn was destroyed.

Now, the kids are standing in the aftermath. Julie is gone, and no one seems to notice that she is gone. It is only with the return of George, and Condor’s healing flesh, that there is the slightest chance to bring her back.

And the love triangle, revitalized by George’s return, is stretching to the breaking point.
