Prominence, SC Session 2 – Prominence Lost

lostbanner

The unlikely team of The Olympian and Reverb are throwing their best efforts at the criminals attempting to attain a stranglehold on the city. After surviving an ambush, they finally get a pair of names: ‘Irish’ and an assassin named ‘The Witch.’  Their only other lead, a Louis Hudson (who has apparent ties to the Irish Mob) is being coerced into a meeting.

Prominence is besieged by the Irish Mob and vigilante justice is the only thing that is standing between them and control of the city.  Can The Olympian and Reverb hold the line, or will the weight of corruption crush them where they stand?

NOTE: This game was recorded live, and as such the recording quality is lower than our norm. We apologize.

PLAYERS

  • Sam – Clarence Young (The Olympian).  Primed to be one of the most-winning medalists of the 2008 Bejing Olympics. His body was in peak physical condition, his mind was ready: but his entire career was about to come crashing down. A victim of Mob scheming and violence, his family was hurt, and he went out for vengeance.
  • Matt – James Rhyne (Reverb).   Got his Masters in Electrical Engineering with a minor in acoustic design.  10 years back, shortly after beginning employment, his father was diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease.  He got himself checked out and found out that he’s also positive for Hereditary Huntington’s.  With nothing to live for and nothing to lose, he decided to take down the mob before he died.

  1. Did she spend the points to get the whole no sound thing?
How many points do you guys have
Or did Matt buy the thing to make it so people are reproduce his tech as normal technology
Also Nate how he said it would not infer he had been around to build. He could have stolen it meaning he’d be the only person to own it, and her theft pushs on his territory… Unless she has 5 Mind
Outside of that no complaints great finishing to I guess the technical First Session of the game

    1. 1.) The Witch has the “borrowed technology” power permission, yes.
2.) They started with the standard 250 points, but had to justify their stuff as things a regular and/or idyllic human could get have.
3.) I don’t think he did, but it was stated numerous times by Matt that it was technology he developed for a company. As a result, there were prototypes of the technology kept around. That’s what The Witch wound up stealing. Reverb’s stealth field is much better than hers.

      1. Thanks Nate that fills in a lot of gaps.

  2. There are a lot of questions surrounding The Olympian and his family’s death that he could of got answered in that last scene… Like why was he allowed to live when they killed his entire family. If it was to keep him out of the Olympics they could have done it a lot easier, by just injuring him, or just killing him out right; but they decide to kill his entire family with a bomb and also knock off his coach, and yet do nothing to him!?!?!? That just seems like overkill to me. Also loved how Matt’s character goes all secret agent at the end there… it was cool.
