Mrs. Frieda’s Halfway Home Session 34 – A Perfect Day

Welcome to Mrs. Frieda’s State Home, where nothing weird has ever, or will ever happen. Scott Valle, middle schooler, has chosen to play hooky from school with his friend Manny in order to play with G.I. Joes.

This is a Frieda’s without monsters. Without shadows, where nothing lurks in the corners and in the minds of its occupants, in a Troy not pitted and cratered by the effects of those monsters.

This session was conducted with a parallel text roleplay, telling George and Emma’s story. While not critical to the plot of this session, it adds a nice bit of extra character development.  That story can be read here.

  1. Ok, so I know this is far fetched, but I totally thought this was going king in yellow/Carcosa style, primarily because of the man that the kids were having a hard time discerning on a throne in the poster. That and Nele’s comment on it maybe being a play rather than a movie. But the reveal was still just as cool.

    An awesome game as usual.

  2. I think maybe that was the first time I’ve heard Nele cuss. Unless that was out of character, Charlie.

“have you walked the longest Mile?” has to be the creepiest way I’ve ever heard you guys end a session, by the way. Great job!

  3. X3 I love this series and (because of internets being sucky) I’m so far behind, but catching up quickly.
This is probably my favorite session.
